‘Bubbleologist’ Samsam Bubbleman (aka Sam Heath) may have just set the record for world’s largest free-floating soap bubble!

In an attempt to break the current 2005 record of a 105.4 cubic feet bubble, he created one that stretched at least 20ft by 5ft by 5ft in Finsbury Park, North London this week. Pending official confirmation from the folks at Guinness World Records, the huge bubble (made with a piece of rope between two sticks and Samsam’s secret bubble solution) could be the new record holder.  Whatever the outcome (witnesses say he has it in the bag!) it was one impressive and beautiful bubble.  (via NotCot, via Daily Mail)

While you may not achieve the same gigantic results, I found a tutorial over at Ziggity Zoom to make a bubble apparatus somewhat similar to Samsam’s but on a kid-friendly scale using two drinking straws and cotton string! They also provide a simple bubble solution recipe.  My suggestion?  Bathing suits.  Let the kids have some sticky fun in the backyard and then hose ‘em down or break out the sprinkler. Happy bubbling!

That is so cool. There is a show here in NYC called gazillion bubbles. Bet it would be fun.
