Thanks a Bunch

There are certain baby shower and newborn gifts that have never won me over, the diaper cake being chief among them. They’re big business and I certainly mean no offense to the lovely ladies that make them - they’re just not my thing. However, I do like the idea of presenting a new parent with practical basics packaged in unusual and clever ways. For example, there’s a Nashville based apparel line called The Milkman that appropriately packages their onesies and toddler tees in reusable, retro glass milk bottles. Nice, right?
And then there’s a company called The Baby Bunch that takes a nice selection of solid color cotton (organic is an option) caps, sock, tee, onesies, receiving blankets and the like and turns them into faux floral bouquets. I readily admit that this is a concept that could go horribly wrong, add in loud patterns, lace and some baby’s breath and you’ve got yourself an aesthetic nightmare. But these folks kept it simple and it works. You select the clothing that makes up the bouquet and then decide if you’d like it presented in a galvanized metal pail or a floral box with a clear top lid. And priced from $29.95 to $69.95 they’re less than most anything you could order from your florist.
